On Friday, May 29, 2020, representatives from the five French manufacturers in the sector\u2014Beno\u00eet Demol (Codimag), Bruno Vitali (GIC), Victor Abergel (MGI), Charles Dernoncourt (Serame), and St\u00e9phane Rateau (SMAG)\u2014launched the French Tech Club Label<\/strong>, a one-of-a-kind initiative in this industry.<\/p>\n\n

Through this innovative initiative, these five manufacturers aim to highlight French technological innovation in the industry, as exemplified by the breadth and relevance of their offerings to printers and converters.<\/p>\n\n

In fact, Codimag<\/strong>, GIC<\/strong>, MGI<\/strong>, Serame<\/strong>, and SMAG <\/strong>develop in France and manufacture and market worldwide a full range of high-value-added conventional and digital technologies.<\/p>\n\n

Innovating in Business Relationships<\/h3>\n

For Victor Abergel, VP of MGI, the creation of the French Tech Club Label<\/strong> is ultimately a natural step given the current context:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe one-year postponement of Drupa, the lack of any major events this year in the labeling and flexible packaging industry, and the two-month shutdown due to the lockdown are clearly prompting us to rethink how we engage with our customers.\u201d<\/blockquote>\n\n

In this context, innovating in the sales approach is essential, according to St\u00e9phane Rateau, CEO of SMAG:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe COVID-19 crisis has highlighted the issue of technological dependence and reliance on distant sourcing, which poses a major challenge for European manufacturers in the label and flexible packaging industries. Service and Responsiveness<\/h3>\n

As part of their joint initiative, the members of the French Tech Club Label<\/strong> aim to highlight their proximity to their clients\u2019 factories and the responsiveness of their service\u2014an essential aspect, concludes Charles Dernoncourt, CEO of Serame:<\/p>\n

\u201cSupporting label manufacturers on a day-to-day basis in their strategy for industrial differentiation requires close collaboration and a high degree of responsiveness\u2014a true service-oriented approach. By managing the design, manufacturing, and marketing of our technologies locally, we are best positioned to adapt to our customers\u2019 day-to-day needs.\u201d<\/blockquote>\n\n
